Chelsea Genser, Production Coordinator
Chelsea joined Advanced Productions in August of 2015 as Production Coordinator. She works primarily in the office to oversee all of the logistical aspects of each event and is the office go-to for all event and scheduling related questions. In the “off” seasons, Chelsea works on business development and marketing. She has been working in the event/theater business for many years, beginning as a performer when she was young, and ultimately finding her way behind the scenes as sound designer/operator. Chelsea holds a Bachelor of Science from Towson University in Electronic Media and Film. Chelsea has both technical as well as administrative/customer service skills, making her qualified to adjust to whatever needs a client may have. In her time away from the office, Chelsea dances with Vaught Contemporary Ballet and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Josh Cook, Production Manager
Josh moved to Maryland from England in 2014. He studied Audio Technology at the University of the West of England and proceeded to work in a fast, upscale environment as an A1 on luxury cruise ships. Passionate about production, Josh joined Advanced part-time in Spring 2016 and accepted a full-time position that September, working both in the field as a production lead and in the sales office building shows from the ground up. Josh also supports all of our internal IT infrastructure and data management. In his spare time, Josh builds arcade machines and loves taking road-trips with his wife Christine. Grateful for an amazing group of colleagues, Josh makes sure that every event is idealized.
Cazz Cerkez, Warehouse Assistant / Field Technician
Cazz joined Advanced Productions in the spring of 2016 and quickly demonstrated his audio/visual skills in both the field as well as the warehouse. As assistant to the Warehouse Manager, Cazz works to ensure events leave and return to the warehouse properly packed and organized. In May of 2016, Cazz graduated from Towson University where he studied Electronic Media and Film. Outside of his work with Advanced, Cazz freelances as a film composer and works as a post-production sound editor with Studio Unknown in Catonsville, Maryland. In his free time, Cazz enjoys watching movies, snowboarding, and playing music with his band.
Ben Kirsch, Video Technician and IT Specialist
Ben recently returned to Advanced Productions after several years contracted as a video technician for the Social Security Administration. As a Video Technician for Advanced Productions, Ben is responsible for ensuring the video content and projection for each show meets the requirements specified by our clients. He works closely with the production team making sure the content is formatted correctly for our software and projection hardware. Ben also supports all of our internal IT infrastructure and data management. Ben is a graduate of Frostburg State University and holds a BS degree in Mass Communications. In his spare time you may find Ben enjoying a video game, hiking or honing his skills as a videographer.
Rich Bussey, Production Lead
As a Production Lead, Rich provides overall event production support with specialization in audio technology. Rich began working part time for Advanced in 2013. He accepted a formal position with the company during the winter season of 2015 in which he balances his time between fieldwork and supporting the warehouse staff with pre-production preparation. Rich graduated with honors from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County having studied music and the recording arts. Outside of his work with Advanced, Rich freelances as an Audio Technician at George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium and works as a post-production editor with Studio Unknown in Catonsville, Maryland. Rich dreads leaving voicemails, enjoys listening to video game soundtracks, and almost always leaves room for dessert.
Matt English, Warehouse Manager
As Warehouse Manager for Advanced Productions, Matt is responsible for managing the overall operations of the warehouse, ensuring each show gets pulled correctly and timely, as well as overseeing and executing equipment rentals. Matt joined Advanced Productions in February 2012, with diverse work experiences. Through his role as a weekend manager for the University of Maryland - College Park research greenhouse Matt developed an eye for detail and an ability to support an overall mission with a need for precise execution skills. While in his Warehouse Manager position, he has seen the entire process of planning, pulling and producing a show – and how to best contribute to the common goal. He is currently attending Howard Community College on a part-time basis in the evenings, and hopes to earn a degree in Environmental Science or Geography. In time away from school and work, Matt enjoys cooking, gardening, and playing video games.
Tim Brown, Director of Operations
As Director of Operations, Tim coordinates and produces anywhere from 5 to 20 events per week. He spends much of his time overseeing the daily work of our company both in the office and out in the field. Tim is heavily involved in the production work undertaken by Advanced Productions, collaborating with each client to ensure their event is implemented with care and precision from start to finish. Tim is truly dedicated to making each event personalized and successful. He also oversees the internal infrastructure of the organization, working closely with his managers to plan and apply future business development strategies for Advanced Productions. Tim has an extensive background in event design and management experience including a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Management Studies from the University of Maryland. When he is away from the office, Tim enjoys boating, skiing, and spending time with family.
Abbey, Work-Study/Administrative Assistant
Abbey is a senior at Archbishop Spalding High School and has been working at Advanced Productions since May of 2015. As our resident work-study assistant, Abbey helps Advanced Productions with various administrative tasks that include assisting Lisa with accounts, data entry, updating the event system with pertinent event information, and additional assignments as necessary. Abbey has been dancing for 14 years and is looking forward to attending college in the fall to major in science.
Lisa Brown, Business Manager
Lisa has worked as Business Manager for Advanced Productions since 1996. She assists clients with non-technical requirements including accounting, administrative needs, and logistical requests. From primary consultation to post-production feedback, Lisa is the primary point of contact for accounting questions or concerns. Lisa also works closely with business development and the internal structure of the company. Lisa and Chelsea, our Production Coordinator, work together to administer and coordinate seamless events week after week. Fondly referred to as the “office Mom,” Lisa can tackle any issue with confidence and calm. In her time away from the office Lisa loves to ski, scrapbook, and spend time with her family.
James Garvin, Creative Services Consultant
Since joining the Advanced Productions team in 2001, Jamie has become the driving force behind our creative services department. With over 20 years of experience in the event industry, Jamie will seamlessly take you from the conceptual and planning stages of your event to the completion and production of your vision. Jamie’s experience and creative expertise comes from working with numerous large companies such as Microsoft, Deliotte, Touche, Forbes Magazine, and the Direct Marketing Association just to name a few. As our Creative Services Consultant Jamie brings a unique perspective to event design. By utilizing all of our resources, James, will ensure your message and brand captivate your audience. Along with extensive experience, Jamie has a degree in Graphic Design from Maryland Institute of Art.
